An Open Letter to My Former 7th Graders

Dear 7th Graders (now amazing young adults),

First and foremost, I want you to know how much you are loved and valued. Each of you holds a special place in my heart, and I think about our time together often. Whether you’re now 13 or 22, your journey and growth are important to me and always have been.

Reflecting on our classroom days brings back so many memories. We faced challenges and celebrated successes together, and each experience has left a lasting impact on me. Your resilience, creativity, and unique perspectives were always a source of inspiration.

I remember the stories you shared, the poems you wrote, and the lively discussions we had. Each piece of writing, each idea you bravely put out there, was a glimpse into your incredible minds. I hope you know how talented you are and how much potential you hold. It’s always been my greatest honor just to witness it.

My hope is that one day, I will see your names on book covers, scoreboards, movie credits, businesses, or on a badge you wear as nurse, neurosurgeon, or business manager. Your goals matter, your stories matter. Your voices are powerful, and the world needs to hear them.

If you ever find yourselves doubting your worth or abilities, remember this: you are capable of achieving amazing things. You have already overcome so much, and you possess the strength to reach your dreams. Believe in yourselves as much as I believe in you.

As you continue your journey, never forget the power of your words and the impact you can make. I’m so happy you’ve made it to my little slice of the internet and I hope to see you sometime soon. Keep writing, keep dreaming, and keep pushing forward. I am immensely proud of each and every one of you, and I eagerly await the incredible futures you will create.

Thank you for the memories, the lessons, and for allowing me to be a part of your journey. You are extraordinary individuals, and I am honored to have been your teacher.

With all my love and admiration,

Mrs. Franke and Mr. Freckles III
